As we approach the closing of January, I have a word to leave with you; God does the work. In my devotional time this month, I have found excitement, comfort, and joy in the life of Joseph. God’s hand was with Joseph wherever he went.
“And Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined, and he was there in prison. But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of the prison put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever was done there, he was the one who did it. The keeper of the prison paid no attention to anything that was in Joseph's charge, because the LORD was with him. And whatever he did, the LORD made it succeed.” - Genesis 39:20-23 (ESV)
Our Nashville economy is booming, the city is both diversifying and growing, and droves of new families are moving here daily. There are no shortages of fresh ministries, churches, movements, partnerships, and strategic decisions to meet the demands of the Greater Nashville area.
We still need God to work. Just as He was clearly with Joseph, so He will be with us. We need not be afraid of any negative forces in our city, limitations, constraints, challenges, and situations that lead us to feel imprisoned. God works through all the impossibilities of our lives to show Himself more glorious.
My prayer for you as we close out January 2019, is that we look to God to work in our lives to broaden the fame of His name in our hearts, households, neighborhood, communities, city, and other spaces in Greater Nashville and abroad. Whatever you do, allow the LORD make it succeed for His eternal Kingdom.
