"Unity for the sake of mission." That's one way of describing the passion that drives Operation Andrew. I am regularly encouraged as pastors and churches are embracing unity as a very high value.  The Operation Andrew Chapter in White House, TN invited me to preach at a joint service of eight churches in January.  The pastors decided in advance that the offering would be directed to assist a Hispanic church in Nashville that had an urgent need for floor covering in their Sunday school space.  The $3,500 offering completely covered that need.  What a blessing it was to deliver the gift to the El Shaddai Christian Church during their worship the following Sunday.  Unity and God's love for the poor was the theme that brought three Franklin churches together for joint worship in mid-April.  I was honored to be the guest preacher that evening. The service launched a ministry that these churches plan to have in June in one of the more needy areas in Franklin.  Now that's "unity for the sake of mission".

Pastor's Prayer Summit Builds Strong Foundations

Twenty area pastors set aside 24 hours last March to meet together in a quiet, out-of-the-way place for the sole purpose of seeking the face of God together.
ppsTom White, author of City-Wide Prayer Movements, facilitated the gathering.

Denominational and racial diversity marked the gathering.  With the exception of Charles McGowan, President of Operation Andrew, no one in the group knew everyone present before the initial meeting began.  In spite of that, the Holy Spirit quickly created an atmosphere of love and openness, enabling all present to feel mutual respect and acceptance.

The leadership team that extended the invitation has agreed to lay plans for another Summit tentativlely set for October 15-17.  The invitation will be open to any pastor who desires to participate.  More information will be sent to pastors in early summer.

"Biznistry" Lunch to Learn a Huge Success!

On Thursday April 19th, 40 pastors and area business leaders gathered on the beautiful campus of Fellowship Bible Church to hear Dick Gygi, a former CEO,  biznistry
speak on the new and exciting concept of "Biznistry". This new approach to funding ministry is allowing individuals with business experience to use their gifts to further God's kingdom.  Through varied business projects and entrepreneurship, people are funding ministries throughout the world and right here in the United States. The attendees were challenged to "think outside the box" when it comes to ministry and business, and everyone left feeling very excited about the possibilities of this new concept. Attendees were also given the book Halftime by Bob Buford. For more information on these opportunities please visit the Halftime website at http://www.halftime.org/.
