Stories of Hope
The National Day of Prayer gathers people from across the city to pray from 12noon - 1 pm on the first Thursday in May.
The Leadership Luncheon at Belmont University's Curb Center brought together MNPS Principals, Community Achieves staff, Pastors, Church Coordinators, PENCIL Directors, and many Partnership Coordinators.
We were greatly encouraged by the words Dr. Joseph, Director of Schools in MNPS, as he shared with us a call from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: “…I want you to say that I tried to love and serve humanity. Yes, if you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice. Say that I was a drum major for peace. I was a drum major for righteousness. And all of the other shallow things will not matter... I just want to leave a committed life behind…”
The “all hands on deck” approach helped us ensure that our focus is on serving students with excellence – intentionally, each academic year.
OA's purpose is gaining fresh wind as our city continues to grow by an estimated 81 new residents each day.
